This model was made for the home market. It has the light grey frame and the tank and panels were originally in BSA Flamboyant Red. When originally bought, it was in original, but bruised, condition and virtually complete. The machine then was totally stripped of every nut and bolt and assessed for condition.
The frame was Stove Enamelled in a similar light grey at Rainbow Stove Enamellers near Mossley, but the flamboyant red curdled into a rather bright orange. The colour was not original but looked similar to the shade of the Triumph Hurricane.
The engine was totally stripped down. The crankshaft was reground at C.W.Milks in Manchester, and the barrel re-bored. Most of the replacement bearings, studs, nuts and bolts were supplied by Jack Bottomleys in Greengate, Salford and some parts were bought from Jeffries in Shipley, Yorkshire.
